Why is it that ninety percent of the time when the phone rings it is a call from someone you want to die?
Those endless phone pests who want to tell you that if you don't call them back immediately, Medicare will cancel your service and you will die broke and alone in a frozen ditch in Siberia. Robots whose messages on voicemail record only half of their messages.
You would think that a damn robot would be smarter.
You often hear the phrase, "We can send a man to the moon, but we can't . . ." Fill in the blank. Here, the ending is, we can't stop junk phone calls. Is anyone really trying?
My phone rings at regular intervals with the caller ID saying anonymous, or private, or even my own phone number. I have not yet been curious enough to answer the phone when my own phone number appears. It might be spooky. A voice from beyond.
We live in an age of frustration. Technology is so smart, yet it can't make the telephones we pay for free from the garbage we don't pay for.😫
